Essential Information

We’ve so missed gathering together in person during this time, and are excited to let you know that we are beginning to have services together again. Our priority is the safety of our congregation, visitors, staff and volunteer team and so things will look a little different for a while, with new measures in place to make things COVID-19 secure.

Even with the actions we have taken to protect us all, the risk of transmission of COVID-19 can’t be entirely eliminated and so before considering attending a church service, we encourage you to make the best choice for your family and situation. We’re planning on continuing to stream Redeemer online for the foreseeable future, so there is no pressure to rush back to joining us on site if that’s not the best option for you to take. If you are over 70, are categorised as clinically vulnerable we would recommend that you continue to enjoy the services online due to the increased risks associated with attending public worship.

+Ticketing

  • Venue capacity is limited so we will only be able to admit those who have booked tickets for the service.
  • Each week that you’d like to join us, you’ll need to have booked tickets for each member of your household attending.
  • We’d ask you and your household to attend only one service each week for this season to minimise the number of people mixing across the sites - exceptions would be (for example) if you are serving during the first service and attend the second whilst members of your household attend the first and head home.
  • When booking, we also collect your data for the NHS Test and Trace scheme as requested by the government. We will only share your name, contact number, date of attendance, arrival time and departure time with the NHS if requested.

+Arrival and Check-in

  • Doors will open 15 minutes before the start of the service, so to avoid long queues please don’t arrive before then! It might take a little while for us to get everyone in safely, so thank you for your patience.

  • We encourage everyone to travel by car, taxi, bike or on foot where possible, and if necessary, public transport. For more information on travel by public transport, please review this travel guidance for passengers information sheet

  • You’ll need to stay with your household in the queue and to stay two metres away from other groups.

  • You’ll need to have your own face covering*, ready to wear whilst you’re with us - and take home with you after the service.

  • We’ll ask everyone to use the hand sanitisers as they enter the building.

  • A one-way system will be in place in the church so please follow the instructions of the hosting team as they show you where your group should sit.

*exemptions apply

+Venue

  • A one-way system will be in operation throughout the church – please do follow it!

  • Signage will be displayed throughout the churches to facilitate social distancing and hygiene procedures.

  • Toilets will be open but there will be a limit to the number of people able to be in the bathroom area at one time to ensure social distancing. Please listen to the guidance of the hosting team.

  • Hand sanitising stations will be available at the entrance and exits of the church for you to use regularly.

  • We’ll be pinning some of the doors open so you don’t need to touch them.

  • We won’t be passing around offering buckets or gift aid envelopes so if you’d like to give, we’d love for you to do that online.

  • Please do not bring large bags or luggage with you – there is nowhere for these items to be stored safely and they won’t be allowed on site.

+KIDS GROUPS

  • At the moment we are running kids groups for primary aged children and below at our 9:30am service ONLY. If your children are older or you’d prefer them to stay with you, you’ll need to make sure they each have a ticket, and are sat with you during the service.

  • Our organised activities are focussed on from age 2 upwards - if your child is younger and you hope to have them attend the kids activities or want to know what spaces are available, please contact us before booking at info@redeemerchurchcolchester.org.

  • Children under 11 are exempt from needing to wear a face covering .

If you or any of your household:

  • feel unwell

  • show or have shown any symptoms of COVID-19 (or have been in close contact with someone who has) within the last 14 days

  • have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (or been in close contact with someone who has) within the last 14 days
